Some love stories begin with grand gestures, others with serendipitous moments. For Madison and Lachie, it started in the most modern way possible — online — before growing into a grounded, easy, joyful partnership that now leads them toward marriage.

How They Met

In Madison’s own words, their beginning was “nothing romantic … online!”

But what started as a digital introduction became a real, enduring connection — one that would eventually lead to a surprise proposal on a trail they had walked together countless times.

The Proposal

The morning after a night shift, Madison joined Lachie for their usual walk with their dog, Johnny, through the rugged beauty of Sturt Gorge Recreation Park. With waterfalls, wildlife and sweeping vistas, the gorge has always been a place they love — calm, natural, familiar.

As they reached their favourite part of the hike, Madison walked ahead, unaware of what was unfolding behind her.

When Lachie called her name, she turned to find him down on one knee.

“To say I was shocked and surprised may be one of the biggest understatements,” she recalls.

It was simple, completely unexpected, and utterly perfect.

The Ring

Lachie worked closely with Frank to design the ring entirely from scratch — without a single hint from Madison.

Crafted in 18ct yellow and white gold, the design features an emerald-cut Madagascan blue-green sapphire set alongside a round brilliant cut diamond. The cross-over open loop style, complete with four four-claw settings, creates a sculptural, fluid silhouette that feels both modern and deeply personal.

Unique, character-filled and intentionally unlike anything traditional, it mirrors Madison herself in every detail.

“It is possibly the most beautiful ring I have ever seen,” she says. “I’m truly obsessed. Not a day goes by where I don’t get a compliment from a random stranger about it.”

The craftsmanship and little quirks within the design make the piece not only visually compelling, but profoundly sentimental — a ring created with intention, individuality and love.

Why This Design

Lachie’s goal was simple: create something meaningful, distinctive and reflective of Madison herself.

He wanted a ring with personality — a piece that felt alive, expressive and unlike anything else.

And he succeeded.
